Surf camp employee education
Do you dream of working abroad, surfing the best waves in Europe and creating unforgettable experiences for our guests? Now is your chance to make that dream come true! Through our training, you get a unique opportunity to train as a surf camp travel guide, where you combine valuable practical skills with fantastic surfing days!
What can you expect?
You get a solid education that prepares you for life at a surf camp. Learn the basics of leadership, hosting and customer service while developing your surfing skills and gaining insight into how to create magical experiences – both for our guests and for yourself. The education is meritorious for other jobs in the travel industry and opens doors for future opportunities. In addition, you will learn to surf and take part in the surf culture, discover magical Baleal and meet new wonderful friends!
During the training you will:
- Gain a thorough understanding of working at a surf camp – both theoretical and practical.
- Learn leadership techniques that will help you guide, lead and inspire our guests.
- Develop first-class skills in guest service, sales and hospitality.
- Receive a diploma upon completion of the training and priority for employment for the upcoming season.
The content of the education
We see that you, the applicant, meet the following:
- High school qualification
- Swedish fluent in spoken and written
- English fluent in spoken and written
- Previous work experience
- Very keen to learn to surf or have previous experience in surfing
- Manual driving license
It is an advantage if you have:
- Previous experience in the service industry
- Lived abroad in the past
- Other language skills
Layout and content
The training lasts for 7 days, where you try out tasks such as preparing a breakfast buffet, arranging activities and taking care of guests. We train on each other in a group before working with guests, to give you practical experience and insight into the role. With a focus on “learning-by-doing”, we combine practical work and theory. You get to face spontaneous situations and collaborate in a team, just like in everyday life at a surf camp.
A training manager leads the theory sessions and you get to shadow experienced employees, who provide support, guidance and personal feedback throughout the week.

- 7 nights accommodation at our camp within walking distance of the waves
- 3 surf lessons of 2 hours each
- A delicious breakfast buffet every morning
- Wetsuit and surfboard – surf as much as you want during your entire stay
- Developing video feedback with your surf instructor
- Towel, bed linen, and room cleaning (bring a beach towel)
- 4 dinners + pub crawl with a night out
- Transfer to and from the airport (within the slot of our transfer times)

Dates for the training:
- Week 11 (March 9 - 16, 2025)
- Week 21 (May 18 - 25, 2025)
Price for the week: 11 445 SEK
Recruitment and Application
To apply, you must be 19–30 years old, have upper secondary education, a driving licence, fluent Swedish, good English and work experience. You should have an interest in or experience of surfing and be able to work during the coming season. After the training you will receive a diploma as proof of participation.
