A SUNNIER AUTUMN BREAK
The ideal autumn break should include movement, activity, and joy as a strengthening and restful pause for all school students during the long autumn semester. Come down to warm Portugal where late summer lingers, the waves are great, the water is still warm, and where most tourists have left our little surf village. Gather new joy, happiness, and energy for the darker winter months. The peak of warmth is in early September in Baleal.
With our warm wetsuits (4.3 mm), we surf comfortably all year round. Additionally, there is usually a lovely off-season feeling with fewer people in the village and in the sea, but typically the same range of restaurants, bars, and surf shops are open.
A MORE FUN CHRISTMAS BREAK
We celebrate Christmas Eve in the best way with Santa surf. We bring Santa hats and walk together down to the beach for some great morning surfing. Afterwards, we cozy up by the crackling fire with a cup of mulled wine or hot chocolate and Christmas music playing in the speakers.
On Christmas Eve night, we play the gift exchange game and enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner that we cook together. As usual, the fellowship at Magnus & friends is one of the highlights along with the surfing. Enjoy a brighter, warmer, more active, and more enjoyable Christmas! WARMER WINTER BREAK
Escape the February darkness, crowded ski slopes, chilly temperatures, and frosty fingertips! Come down to sunny Portugal where the waves are great, the air is mild, the water is inviting, and our little surf village rests in delightful off-season attire, and most importantly, we have 9 hours of sunshine per day!
Thanks to Portugal’s southern location, winters are mild and pleasant with daytime temperatures around 16 degrees Celsius in the shade. It can be really pleasant in the sun against the house wall. Bring a thinner jacket for the evenings when the sun goes down. The water temperature remains consistent year-round due to the warm currents of the Atlantic.
In February, it’s about 15 degrees Celsius, and with our wetsuits, you can surf comfortably all year-round. Depending on currents, some days may be colder, and in that case, we provide shoes to borrow. But it’s rarely needed. Welcome to the light, the long days, and the wonderful fellowship! BRIGHTER EASTER BREAK
Come down and meet spring and celebrate Easter with us in Portugal. Leave the April weather and come down to the pre-summer Portugal and surf!
In April, we have an average daytime temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperature of 10. The water temperature is around 15 degrees Celsius, and with our comfortable, 4.3 mm thick wetsuits, we surf comfortably all year-round. Welcome to the month when the cherry trees blossom in Portugal!
A COOLER SUMMER BREAK
The summer vacation is our most popular time of the year. That’s when it’s peak season here in Baleal, the holiday vibe is strong, and the weather is at its best. As usual in our fantastic village, the waves keep rolling in. Enjoy surfing, wonderful days on the beach with swimming and playing, amazing sunsets, fun activities outdoors, and of course, an ice cream or two.
Get ready for the highlight of summer! Come down to magical Portugal and recharge with new energy for the autumn, make new friends, and create other unforgettable memories!
